SDM™ 3S TT/TRIATHLON CARBON WHEEL
– THE CROSS WIND CAN PUSH YOU FORWARD
For the design of bicycle wheel, the traditional designers were often committed to reduce the resistance from side wind while how to make full use of lateral wind-force to help riders reduce physical strength consumption is taken into consideration in our design of 3S Turbo wheel.
Our inspiration comes from an ancient invention-windmill. The windmill fan shape ( with one side higher and the other side lower than wind direction) helps to make the wind blows in one direction on the surface of fan blades (from high to low), thus the passing wind direction changes. Give the wind a steering force, the wind will give the fan blades an opposing force in return, that is to say, the wind gives the fixed switch fan blades a reactive force. As the fan blades are fixed on the shaft of the windmill, the force of the fan blades given by the wind is transformed into shear stress for the windmill, so it rolls.
So the stronger the wind is, the stronger the steering force from the blades is. Accordingly, the stronger the steering force from the wind is, the faster the windmill rolls.
Apply this principle into wheel design, the wind from the lateral is moved from high first then to low, by means of extending the curve degree to form a roll. By the specially designed blades, the steering force generated from cross wind always goes forward.
Therefore, the stronger the cross wind is, the powerful the roll is. Although this design won’t completely eliminate the resistance from lateral wind, it converts the resistance into driving force to save strength for the riders, especially the riders in the Triathlon for whom per watt of energy is precious.

Jason Xiang (store manager) –
Hi,
Yes, the SDM™ 3S wheels are compatible with 23mm tire, and 23mm is recommended for this model.

Hello
What hubs does this front trispoke wheel use?
Thank You
admin –
Hi, a lightweight custom alloy hub is used for the front wheel. Are you looking for a specific hub?
Best Regards!
Jason
RICHARD PYKE –
Hi, I normally run 115psi on my front wheels, will it be ok on this rim, you specify 100 max! Also is this wheel stiff for high speed cornering or should I look at another wheel?!
admin –
Hi, 115psi is acceptable, before ship the wheel, we test each wheel by 140psi. 100psi is a preservation limit.
