TECHNOLOGY

SDM RIM TECH
To make strong, durable rims, we add extra layers of carbon to some of the most important parts of your wheelset.

SDM BRAKE TECH
We apply an extra layer of basalt fiber to every SDM Braking surface, which gives you noticeably better braking performance and extraordinary durability.

SDM HUB TECH
We’ve built an over-class hubset into our SDM designs. The BiteX Ceramic hubset is designed to have extra-strong wheel geometry, durability and smoothness…

SDM SPOKE
It might seem like an obvious fact for any road bike, but we’ve seen again and again that thicker spokes make for a stronger and more durable wheel.

I purchased a full-carbon, tubular, rim brake wheelset, I had terrific rides with them in the Dolomites and in hungarian hills, very durable, reliable, swift and nice looking wheelset. Absolutely no technical issues, they came true, they remained true (even on the harsh roads of Budapest city). I am not featherweight (90 kg) but this is not a problem with these wheels. The brake pads that came with the wheels were a bit soft, I used them up very very quickly. I have 50 front and 60 mm rear wheels, and although I can feel stronger crosswinds, it is predictable, and manageable I have not had scary moments yet (well my body-weight is an advantage in this regard). I ordered the wheels with the standard steel bearings and I think it was a good decision, they are very smooth and problem free.

My pair of Zipp 404 served me well for thousand of kilometres however, they were at the end of their road. A friend that I often ride with has been riding on Bladex for years. So I decided to try a pair with DT Swiss 240 hubs for myself. So glad that I have. I prefer them to my old Zipp rims. Lighter, less hub noise and overall my Bladex wheels are more desirable than Zipp. That they cost far less is just a welcomed bonus. Bladex wheels with white SDM decals look fantastic on my bike in my opinion. My recommendation is that Bladex can be trusted as a top rate supplier of top notch quality carbon rims. Expect perfectly trued rims right out of the box. Expect customer service. Expect to be pleased.

Hello. I have two questions.
(1) Is it possible to make both the front and rear 50 mm of the rim height?
(2) Can rims be gloss finished?
BladeX –
Hi,
Thanks for contacting us, my answers are as the following:
1) the wheelset can be with 50mm height rims for both front and rear.
You can choose your front and rear wheels at: http://i1k.70d.myftpupload.com/custom-your-sdm-handmade-road-bike-wheelset
2) the wheels can be in glossy finish, you only have to inform us about this after you place the order. We will handle it for you.
Best regards!
